Abs
So you might be saying to yourself, ‘I’ve heard and
done all of this before.’ If that is the case, there are always ways to improve your workout and challenge your
mind and body. One of the best tips or secrets to body transformation at any stage is variation.
What I mean is to not get stuck in a rut and avoid
hitting that plateau that is so common. Ways to avoid these are trying different exercises, doing movements at
different angles, using a different machine that works the same body part and changing your repetition number
from week to week. These variations are the key to countering our body’s natural ability to adapt to even the
most extreme conditions. This will always keep our bodies guessing by applying stress to different body part and
different muscles.
These simple but affective differences will help you
continue on your road to a complete body transformation that will have you feeling and looking great.
Tips on how to get rid of belly fat:
-
Unfortunately muscle training
alone will not get you the flat belly and defined abs you’re looking for. No matter what anyone tells you, it has been and will always be a
combination of diet and exercise, in order of importance.
BUT there are some ways to step up your workouts, especially when doing resistance training. Let’s say your workout for the day is abs and you have three different
exercises to do in which you are going to perform 3 sets of 12-15 reps of each one. Instead of doing one set, sitting there day dreaming or resting, then
another and so on, practice combining the three exercises into one super set. What this means is doing one set of crunches, then without rest doing a
set of leg lifts and then again without rest doing a set of twists. After this completing one super set you can rest for 1-2 minutes and
then repeat. This type of training with raise your core body
temperature and help you work up a sweat. What that means is
more calories burned, which equals fat loss, which equals a flat tummy!!
-
When performing any type of crunch
is it important to tuck your chin and place your hands
either across your chest, or with your finger tips just touching the side of your head. Do not grab the back of your neck and pull yourself
forward. This not only cheats you out of doing the actual
work, but it can cause you to injure your neck. Let your
neck muscles do what they’re meant to do…support your head.
-
For women looking for a sleek and
sexy mid section, I would avoid doing any weighted side(oblique) exercises. Adding muscle mass to this part of the body might cause your physique
to have a block and/or square appearance which is not what most women are looking for. Too much muscle in this area can throw off your
proportions.
-
Do the hundreds of products that
I’ve seen on informercials or at the sporting good store help any more than what I’ve discussed in this
article? NO!! So save your money and follow these simple to
follow exercises for even better results. Those machines
offer no additional benefit over traditional exercises and ofter have some kind of mechanism to assist
your movement making the exercise easier. The only way this is positive is if you’re just starting out
and have very weak abdominals.
